Beginners MasterClasses

Beginners Masterclasses

We cook one dish per week. It’s a 6 week course usually Tuesday or Thursday evening. Times to be confirmed. We cook Pakoras, Tarka, Dhal, Aloo Gobi, Roti, Chickpea Curry, Samosas

I take you through a journey of my childhood, teaching you the dishes I learnt as a child. I don’t want you to have a cupboard full of spices, you may not use again.
So throughout the whole course the only spices you will need will be Salt, Turmeric, Garam, Masala, Coriander Seeds, Cumin Seeds.

Pakora Class (You will be amazed)
(1) Just how many pakoras you can make with one potato and one onion
(2) How easy they are to make
(3) How delicious they are, using the simplest of ingredients

Tarka Dhal
A fabulously, delicious, nutritious and very economical dish, incredible easy to make very quick attendees tell me after making the Dhal, they are blown away by the flavour and realise they’ve been making it totally the wrong way for years.

Aloo Gobi Aloo means Potato and Gobi means cauliflower.
The number of people that come to my classes and tell me they hate cauliflower, that view is soon changed after they taste the Aloo Gobi they’ve made. Again, this is another dish using simple inexpensive ingredients to create an amazing dish.

Roti
I call this the oooh, aaahh, wow session. We make a dough, roll it out, place it on a tava (flat pan), and watch it blow up like a whoopee cushion, to which everyone exclaims wow.

Chickpea Curry
A little bit more difficult to make, but with its beautiful tangy sauce it’s the Punjab's regional dish. A very versatile dish, which can be used to create other dishes such as Chaats.

Veg Samosa
I don’t think I need to say much. Who doesn’t like a nice samosa? Trust me you will be making the most delicious samosas
Your family will absolutely love you. (so during this course you will be making 2 snacks,  all three types of Indian curries
A Dhal, A lentil curry,
